We’re Erin & Josh Salkeld — and KeldCo exists because we didn’t feel safe in our own home.
Before KeldCo, we were renters who experienced multiple break-ins. That constant feeling — walking back through your door wondering if someone’s been inside — it stays with you.
We searched everywhere for a solution. What we found was either cheap and unreliable, or high quality but locked behind monthly fees. And when things went wrong? Support was distant, slow, or missing entirely.
We didn’t want gimmicks. We wanted something we could trust to protect our home — without subscriptions, without compromises. When we couldn’t find it, we made the hardest decision of our lives: we would build it ourselves.
Built from lived experience
We didn’t start with a product. We started with fear, frustration, and a refusal to accept “that’s just how it is.”
Innovation over imitation
We design, spec and refine our own products — we don’t resell generic hardware.
All-in commitment
We poured our life savings into KeldCo. This isn’t a side project — it’s our life’s work.
From fear… to foundation
KeldCo wasn’t built in a boardroom. It was built in real homes, with real risk, by people who needed this solution themselves.
It started with us
After multiple break-ins, our sense of safety was gone. We built KeldCo for families and renters who just want to feel secure again.
Bedrooms became warehouses
We packed orders late at night, answered every email ourselves, and obsessed over making things better with every customer.
The grind behind the growth
Every box, every pallet, every late night was a step toward building something that lasts.
When the couch disappeared
There was a moment our home looked like a post office. That’s when we knew people were trusting us — and we couldn’t let them down.
Taking real risk
Scaling meant buying inventory, committing cash, and backing ourselves fully. No shortcuts. No safety net.
Why we built our own app
Most security brands rely on generic third-party apps. We didn’t — because software is where trust is either built or broken.
Building our own app took years. It cost a significant amount of money, countless iterations, and more setbacks than we can count.
But owning our software means we control reliability, security, updates, and the experience you get. We don’t wait on someone else’s roadmap — we build what our customers actually need.
That’s the difference between a reseller and a company that’s here for the long haul.
