PRIVACY POLICY
DATE OF LAST UPDATE: 29th September 2026
OVERVIEW
This Privacy Policy sets out our policies for the collection, use, storage, disclosure and protection of your personal information when visiting our website (“Site”), using the mobile companion application (“App”), or purchasing our products or services, wherever in the world you are located.
The Site is operated by Keld & Co Pty Ltd (ACN 656 435 568, ABN 85 656 435 568) ("we", "us", "our").
“You” means any person who accesses or uses the Site, purchases goods or services from us, creates an account, or otherwise uses our goods or services.
By accessing or using the Site, or by purchasing goods from us, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Sale and Website Use, our Shipping and Delivery Policy and our Returns and Exchanges Policy, each of which is incorporated by reference. This Privacy Policy, the Shipping and Delivery Policy and the Returns and Exchanges Policy documents supplement the Terms of Sale and Website Use document and should be read together. For further detail on these documents, please access the most up-to-date versions of these documents on our Site. If you do not agree to the Terms of Sale and Website Use and the supplementary documents, do not use the Site.
We manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs"), and, where applicable to you, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"/"UK GDPR"), New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, and US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"). Where this Privacy Policy is inconsistent with a mandatory law that applies to you, that law prevails.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:
- contact details – name, address, billing and shipping address, phone number, and email address;
- financial information – payment card or account details, transaction details, and payment confirmations (processed via Shopify's payment systems – we do not store full card numbers ourselves);
- account information – username, password, and App/account preferences and settings;
- transaction information – items viewed, purchased, returned or exchanged, and your order history;
- communications – information you send us, for example in a support enquiry;
- device and usage information – your device, browser, network and IP address, and how you interact with our Site and the App;
- Recorded Data – video, audio and/or metadata captured by your product (“Recorded Data”). Depending on your product’s settings, this may be stored on a removable Micro TF Card (viewed directly from the card or through the App), synced via the App to our Cloud Services, or not persistently stored at all if you use the product card-free without cloud storage enabled. See “Your storage options and what this means for us collecting data” below for what each option means for us collecting it.
- special category / sensitive information – if you enable an AI Feature such as facial recognition, we may process biometric identifiers capable of uniquely identifying a person. We treat this as sensitive information and only process it as described in the "AI Features" section below.
If information doesn't identify you or reasonably enable your identity to be worked out, it isn't "personal information" and this policy doesn't apply to it.
WHERE WE GET IT FROM
- Directly from you – by creating an account, using the Site or App, contacting us, or placing an order.
- Automatically – through your device when you use the Site, App or a product, including via cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies, below).
- From your product – Recorded Data your camera captures and transmits via the App to our Cloud Services, where you enable those features.
- From our service providers – for example, payment processors, the infrastructure and AI providers being our Cloud Services, and Shopify.
- From third parties – our business partners, or other sources you've directed us to collect from.
Where reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information from you directly. If we collect it from someone else, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
- Provide, tailor and improve the services – processing orders and payments, fulfilling and shipping orders, operating your account and the App, enabling Recorded Data storage and viewing, providing customer support, and improving our products, Site and App.
- Marketing – see "Direct marketing" below; we only send marketing communications with your express consent.
- Security and fraud prevention – authenticating your account, securing payments, and detecting or investigating fraudulent, unsafe or unlawful activity.
- Communicating with you – responding to enquiries and providing support.
- Legal reasons – complying with the law, responding to valid legal process, and enforcing our Terms of Service or other policies.
AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING AND AI FEATURES
Some products and App features use artificial intelligence to detect motion, people, vehicles or animals in your Recorded Data, or to generate alerts and summaries ("AI Features"). We don't use AI Features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without a human being involved; if this changes, you'll have the right to request human review.
If an AI Feature involves facial recognition or generates a biometric template capable of uniquely identifying a person, we treat this as sensitive/special category information. For customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), such features are off by default and only enabled with your explicit, separately-given consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the App or by contacting us. We do not use identifiable Recorded Data to train general-purpose AI models except on a de-identified or aggregated basis, or with your express consent.
YOUR STORAGE OPTIONS AND WHAT THIS MEANS FOR US COLLECTING DATA
Depending on your product model, you can choose how your Recorded Data is stored and this materially changes what personal information we actually receive:
- Micro TF Card: If your product has a Mirco TF Card slot, footage is likewise recorded directly onto the card. You can review it either by removing the card and playing it directly (for example, on a computer or card reader) or through the App, which steams it from the card over your local network. Provided you have not also enabled cloud backup, this footage stays on the card either way, and it not received, held or accessible by us. An App viewing session simply passes the stream through to you, without creating a copy anywhere off the card. The same responsibilities for the card’s security, retention, and deletion described above apply to you.
- Cloud storage via our KeldCloud Cloud Services (“Cloud Services”): If you enable this (with or without a card also fitted), footage is uploaded from the product to our Cloud Services and can be viewed through the App from anywhere, not just your local network. This Recorded Data is collected and processed by us as described throughout this policy, including the retention, security, AI processing, and international transfer sections below.
- Card-free operation: Some products can be used without a Micro TF Card fitted. If you also have not enabled cloud storage, the product operates in live-view-only mode, streaming video to the App in real time so you can watch live, without recording or persistently storing footage anywhere. In this mode we do not receive persistent Recorded Data, though we may transiently process the live video stream and connection metadata to deliver the live view to your App, and we do not retain that stream once your viewing session ends.
- Metadata, regardless of storage choice: Even where footage itself stays on a card or is not recorded at all, some products still send us limited information via the App (for example, event timestamps, motion or AI-detection alerts, thumbnail images, or device status. This metadata is collected and processed by us as described in this policy, even though the underlying footage may not be.)
You can mix these options – for example, keeping a card in the product as a local back up while also syncing to our Cloud Services. Check your product and App settings for what your specific model supports.
HOW WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may disclose your personal information:
- to Shopify and other vendors who perform services on our behalf (for example, payment processing, the infrastructure and AI providers behind our Cloud Services, data analytics, customer support, and fulfilment/shipping);
- to business and marketing partners, for example to support advertising – you can opt out of this using the link below;
- where you direct or consent to it, such as through a social media integration;
- with our affiliates or related companies;
- in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets; and
- to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, safety or property of us, our users, or others.
OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Our Site and checkout are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your use of the services to provide and improve them. Information you submit may be shared with Shopify and its service providers, including in countries other than where you live. We also use certain Shopify features that draw on data from your interactions with our store and other Shopify merchants; for those features, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including responding to your requests. Learn more, or exercise your rights directly with Shopify, here:

COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Our Site and App use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, understand how the Site is used, and (where you consent) to support marketing and analytics. Most of this does not identify you personally.
If you are in the EEA or UK, we will only set non-essential cookies (for example, marketing or analytics cookies) with your consent, given through our cookie banner, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Elsewhere, you can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking some cookies may affect how the Site or App works.
THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE AND LINKS
The Site or App may link to third-party websites or platforms we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review any third party’s own policies before providing information to them.
YOUR PRODUCT: RECORDED DATA AND YOUR OWN OBLIGATIONS
Your product records video, audio and/or other data of people and places you choose to point it at. Where you use it purely for personal, family or household purposes, our handling of that footage is covered by this policy, but your own use of the product may fall outside the usual scope of the Privacy Act (which is generally directed at organisations). State and territory surveillance and listening device laws still apply to you directly as the person operating the product, regardless. If you use a product in connection with a business, or if it captures footage beyond your own property (for example, a neighbour's yard or a public footpath), you may separately become responsible, in your own right, for complying with the Privacy Act, the GDPR/UK GDPR, or equivalent law, in relation to that footage. You acknowledge and accept that you are fully responsible for ensuring you comply with your own obligations under the Privacy Act, the GDPR/UK GDPR, or any equivalent law.
CHILDREN’S DATA
Our Site, App and products aren't intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in their country of residence through an account or App sign-up. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us to request its deletion.
SECURITY AND RETENTION
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information we actually hold (including Recorded Data synced to our Cloud Services) from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure – including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud storage within our Cloud Services. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive information to us through unsecured channels. Footage stored only on a removable Micro TF Card is not held by us, so its physical and digital security is your own responsibility. See “Your storage options and what this means for us collecting data” above.
How long we keep personal information depends on why we collected it – for example, Recorded Data synced to our Cloud Services is generally retained for the storage period associated with your plan (after which it is automatically deleted or overwritten), while order and account records are kept as long as needed to provide the services and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Recorded Data stored only on a removable Micro TF Card is retained until you overwrite or delete it yourself, or the card reaches capacity and begins overwriting the oldest footage, we have no role in or visibility over that retention. If you operate a product card-free without cloud storage enabled, footage generally is not retained anywhere beyond your live viewing session. We take steps to destroy or de-identify personal information we no longer need.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. They are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions.
- Access – request access to the personal information we hold about you (we will not charge for the request itself, but may charge our reasonable cost of compiling a large or complex request).
- Correction – ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
- Deletion – ask us to delete personal information we hold about you.
- Portability – ask for a copy of your information in a portable format, in certain circumstances.
- Anonymity – deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where it's lawful and practicable to do so (for example, a general enquiry).
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also have the right to object to or restrict our processing, as well as to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (this will not affect processing carried out before withdrawal).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and, where permitted, you may authorise an agent to act on your behalf provided they can show us proof of that authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
As an Australian business selling worldwide, we may disclose, store or process your personal information outside the country you live in – including with Shopify, and the providers that run our Cloud Services and AI processing, who may be located overseas. This applies to Recorded Data synced to our Cloud Services and other personal information we actually receive. Recorded Data kept only on a removable Micro TF Card, or generated only while using a product card-free in live-view-only mode, is never transmitted to us and is therefore not transferred overseas by us at all.
Before we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure they do not breach the APPs in relation to it, as required by Australian Privacy Principle 8, unless an exception applies or you have consented. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or UK, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the equivalent UK mechanism, unless the destination country has been assessed as providing an adequate level of protection.
DIRECT MARKETING
We will only send you marketing emails or SMS (for example, about new products, promotions or restocks) if you have given express consent, such as by ticking an unticked opt-in box – in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and, for EEA/UK customers, the ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR. Creating an account or making a purchase does not, by itself, mean you have consented to marketing.
Every marketing message identifies us as the sender and includes a working unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time. We will still send non-promotional messages you need, like order and shipping updates, or replies to your enquiries.
COMPLAINTS
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us using the details below. We will aim to acknowledge your complaint within a week, and to resolve straightforward complaints promptly. More complex complaints are usually investigated and responded to within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, or believe we have breached the Privacy Act or the APPs, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) on 1300 363 992 or via oaic.gov.au.
If you are in the EEA, you can find your local data protection authority here: https://www.edpb.europa.eu/sme/find-practical-info/data-protection-authority-you_en.
UK residents can contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
If you are in New Zealand, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. We will post the updated version here with a new "Date of Last Update," and, where a change materially affects your rights, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before it takes effect.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy that we actually receive. This does not include Recorded Data kept only on a Micro TF Card or generated only while using a product card-free in live-view-only mode, since we never receive that data at all (see “Your storage options and what this means for us collecting data” above). Separately, where Recorded Data we do receive captures third parties, you may be independently responsible, in your own right, for complying with applicable law in relation to that footage (see “Your product: Recorded Data and your own obligations” above).
