No two garages are the same. KeldCo offers a range of camera types so you can match the right technology to your specific situation.
If your garage is within range of your home network, a WiFi security camera is one of the simplest and most effective options. Easy to install, easy to manage, and fully remote-accessible through the KeldCo app.
For garages without convenient power access, our solar-powered models eliminate cabling entirely. Harness the sun to keep your camera running day and night — no electrician required. Browse our outdoor security cameras range for solar and wireless options suited to garage exteriors.
Most break-ins happen under the cover of darkness. Our night vision security cameras deliver crisp, clear footage even in complete darkness — giving you reliable evidence when it matters most.
Choosing the right garage camera isn't just about picking the highest specs — it's about matching the camera to your real-world setup and habits. Here are the key things to consider before you buy.
Wired vs Wireless: Wired cameras offer the most stable connection and are harder to tamper with, but require running cables. Wireless and WiFi cameras are faster to install and more flexible in placement, though they rely on your network signal strength near the garage.
Indoor vs Outdoor Placement: A camera mounted inside your garage needs different specs than one mounted above the external door. Outdoor models need weatherproof housings (look for IP65 or higher ratings), while indoor cameras prioritise wide-angle lenses and room coverage.
Storage Options: Subscription-free local storage (via SD card or NVR) is ideal for keeping ongoing costs down. KeldCo cameras never require a monthly subscription — your footage is yours, stored locally on your terms.
Resolution and Field of View: For garages, a minimum of 1080p is recommended, with 4K preferred if you need to capture licence plates or fine details. A wide field of view (110° or more) reduces camera blind spots in larger spaces.
Power Access: Check whether your garage has a nearby power outlet before deciding on a wired model. If power is limited, solar or battery-powered cameras offer a practical, cable-free alternative.
App and Remote Access: Make sure your camera connects to a reliable app with live view, motion alerts, and playback. KeldCo's own app is built specifically for our cameras — no third-party platform, no data sharing, full accountability.

KeldCo was built by people who know exactly what it feels like to have your security compromised. After experiencing break-ins firsthand, founders Erin and Josh Salkeld set out to create a security brand that puts real families first — not profit margins.
Every KeldCo garage security camera is designed, tested, and supported by our own team. We use our own app, sell our own products, and take full accountability for every purchase. There are no third parties to blame, no subscriptions to cancel, and no surprises on your bill.
We're Australian-owned and operated, and we support customers worldwide because the need for real security doesn't stop at the border. When you buy from KeldCo, you're not just buying a camera — you're backing a team that took real risks to solve a real problem, and that stands behind every product we ship.
Yes, traditional CCTV systems can operate without WiFi since they use wired connections like coaxial or ethernet cables to transmit footage directly to a local recorder (DVR or NVR). However, without WiFi, you lose the ability to view footage remotely on your phone. If you want the best of both worlds — local storage AND remote access — KeldCo's Solar Camera Pro 3.0 and 4G Camera Pro are excellent options. The Solar Camera Pro 2.0 4G in particular runs entirely without home WiFi using a SIM card, making it ideal for garages in areas with limited network coverage.
The four main types of security cameras are dome cameras (commonly used indoors and in commercial spaces for discreet coverage), bullet cameras (long-range and directional, great for garages and driveways), PTZ cameras (pan-tilt-zoom for large areas requiring flexible monitoring), and wireless/IP cameras (WiFi or cellular-connected cameras that offer remote access and smart features). For most home garages, bullet-style or compact wireless cameras strike the best balance of coverage, visibility, and ease of installation.
CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) refers specifically to a closed system where cameras transmit footage to a designated local monitor or recorder — not broadcast publicly. The term "security camera" is broader and includes CCTV systems as well as modern IP cameras, WiFi cameras, solar cameras, and cellular cameras that can stream footage remotely. In everyday use, many people use the terms interchangeably, but modern security cameras — like those from KeldCo — go well beyond traditional CCTV by offering app-based remote access, motion alerts, and cloud-optional storage.
Modern smart security cameras significantly outperform traditional CCTV in terms of flexibility, image quality, and convenience. KeldCo's Solar Camera Pro 3.0 is a strong example — it combines solar-powered operation, WiFi connectivity, high-definition video, and motion detection alerts, all without requiring a subscription or professional installation. Unlike CCTV, you get real-time notifications, remote viewing, and footage stored locally on your own terms.
For most homeowners and businesses today, wireless security cameras offer greater advantages than traditional CCTV — especially for garages. Wireless cameras are easier to install, don't require extensive cabling, and allow you to monitor footage remotely from anywhere in the world. KeldCo's wireless range, including the Solar Camera Pro 3.0 WiFi and the KeldCo Home Guardian Indoor Camera, delivers reliable coverage with smart alerts and no ongoing subscription costs — making them a practical and cost-effective upgrade over legacy CCTV systems.
